The 5th Sail Świnoujście and the 29th Sailing Songs Festival “Wiatrak 2013”

Beautiful Polish and foreign vessels, the humming and drumming of bulging and emptying sails, the sound of the wind wailing through the shrouds and of bellowed, wind-snatched sailing songs can be heard accompanying your every step – these are the attractions associated with Sail Świnoujście. Indeed, during the sea cruises available to all the curious, you can even watch the sailors at work, and sometimes help in raising the sails. Sail Świnoujście is held with the playing of shanties and the singing of the traditional songs of the sea-farers, within as part of the simultaneously organised Sailing Songs Festival “Wiatrak” (one of the oldest Polish festivals of this kind). The sailing songs that are heard, come, not only from the stage, but also from the decks of true sailing ships. The whole event is complemented by a fair, by games and by competitions for children. Sail Świnoujście is addressed mainly to families, though everyone will find something suiting their taste.

This three-day venture is a kaleidoscope of 150 events, held at eleven venues, before tens-of-thousands-strong live audiences in Świnoujście, and is televised to millions more. Open to all are discussions, meetings with authors, shows, concerts, special events, scientific experiments, workshops, exhibitions, children's campaigns and sports classes. All these feature the participation of many well-known writers, artistes, actors, journalists, economists, poets, politicians and celebrities. The Carousel of Culture is a one-of-a-kind event in this part of Europe, and in attending it, you can meet people of varied professions and with varied passions. Every year, the Carousel of Culture is distinct, as the event is organised with a different guiding principle. Thanks to this event, you will be able to meet and talk with well-known people from the television screen and from print.

The 15th Świnoujście Organ Evenings International Music Festival

This festival is organised by the Świnoujście Friends Association to popularise organ and classical music, both old and modern, and the illustrious artists invited to it guarantee a high artistic performance standard. The organ concerts (alone or accompanied by other instruments, such as the violin, pan flute, trumpet and flute), provide a diversified listening pleasure for all who come. Moreover, every concert emphasizes the beautiful sound of the unique and historic organ in the Christ the King Church. The concerts are held every Friday from June to August, in the Christ the King Church, Plac Kościelny 1.

The Fisherman’s Day

The Fisherman’s Day

This event is celebrated on the name day of St. Peter, the patron saint of all fishermen. It, highlights the area’s long-standing fishery tradition, and gives all visitors a chance to visit the fishing fleet and watch fishermen at work. Dominating the festival are the stalls offering the gourmet of all manner of tasty fish-based dishes. The event also has an attractive artistic and recreational programme for both adults and children. What is more, there are exhibitions and displays put on by the Local Fisherman's Group – Zalew Szczeciński.
